There is no such thing as Aromatherapy oils. There is Aromatherapy, which is the practice of using essential oils and other fragrant oils to alter mood or health.
Essential oils are just one type of oil used in aromatherapy. The others include, fragrant oils and hyrosols (floral waters).

Most would be ok but there may be some of the essential oils that should not be taken internally.
Why would you put oil on the dog to massage them? That would not be the best for their coat and maybe not great for their skin either.
You can do T-Touch massage on animals and it does not require the use of any oil.

I'm creating a new website business that stems from my experience using essential oils with my massage clients.
Over the past few months many of my clients in person have purchased customized essential oil lotion blends for muscle relief, sleep help, arthiritis relief, etc.
At their encouragement I've put together a website and wondered what you web-savvy folks think I should focus on to improve it.
I have added a merchant account and will have shopping cart/credit card capabilities within the next month or so.
Other than that any ideas?
http://www.yournaturalessentials.com Natural Essential Aromatherapy Website
I just looked through the website. Very nice, original idea. I like the colors, the simple, easy-to-read listings (I don't like super fancy websites), your tone is friendly and professional. You're adding a shopping cart soon, so that's good, and you've got the newsletter sign up…
You might think it's basic and simple, but you have to think of your clientele…people who are looking for aromatherapy (which is something esoteric) are not looking for fancy shamncy…they just want to know that you have what they want so they can get it…A+…I wouldn't change a thing:)

Can anyone tell me the different benefits of certain oils!?!
Any good information on alternative health!?!
Any good websites!?!
Aromatherapy isn't just essential oils, it's basically anything that you smell that alters your emotions. So this could be candles, inscents etc. Essential oils have three main functions to the skin: Hydrate Oxygenate & Detoxify . They trigger the limbic factor of the brain which is conected to memory. For instence when your walking down the street and you smell your ex's perfume that smell triggers the emotion related to that person, or time in your life. They can be rejuvinating, soothing, clearing. They are VERY delicate and powerful. The only 2 pure essential oils that can be applied to the skin are lavendar (calming & an antiseptic) and tea tree(antiseptic) all other oils need to be in a carrier oil. Be sure that when you are buying oils that they are effctive in a glass or aluminum container and the container must be dark. Any essentail oil over 2% will eat away plastic and they are very sensitive to light. Another thing, the only reason that htey are concidered an oil is because they are not water soluable. So, they can go onto the skin and not cause any problems (break outs). There is also a counter part to essential oils which are hydroessentail oils. This is the water portion of the plant. The reason knowing this is important is because not everyone can have essentail oils on them. Anyone who is pregnant must not have them because ess oils penatrate to the blood stream. Studies have shown that it goes so far that it's been found in urine. The hydroessentials only penatrate to the upper epidermis of the skin, but are still effective. Becareful if you are going to be working with essoils, they must be combined properly and they right amounts. To much ess oils can make you sick so make sure you drink a lot of water when working with them. Trust me, I've done it. A great source for you to get more info is from Eve Taylor she is a world renown aromatherapist and reflexologist. I work for many people who have been trained by her and I have also had the pleasure of working with her.

I've been told by parcel force that they're not allowed to ship these oils by air overseas. So I wonder if it's possible to take them by air myself. We have less than 500 ml of oils.
you are only allowed 100ml of liquid in your hand luggage, and you have to drink it to prove its not anything suspicious!
you can however put what you want (well, apart from bombs and stuff) in your suitcases.

I was planning on making a small batch. Wondering what other soapers have liked in the way of aromatherapy essential oils (as oppossed to perfume fragrance) oil.
I know a lot of them aren’t suitable for handmade soap because of the termperature or expense. I was thinking of orange, patchouli or cedar.
Any suggestions?
Thanks all - be well

Lavender or sage. Love the orange thought also.
